Hello everybody

I hope everybody is doing well. We have an CR1 interview next month in Lima Peru, I just received a notice that our K3 visa was also approved and sent to the embassy in Lima. The question I have is, will the K3 overide the the CR1? will they give us and option? thank you

I couldn't answer your question, but I'm in the same case.......but my case not in the consulate...still in NVC. Waiting for evryones reply here. interested in this thread.

as far as I'm concern it won't reflect your CR1/IR1 process.

Goodluck

I don't know if it is standard practice, or only China consulate, but at the China consulate they will always give you the IR/1 if both come to them.

The only reason to go with the k3 would be if you had children on the K3 that you had not filed an I-130 for.

Threads I've seen in the past said that the embassy would proceed with CR1 if both are approved, but ask to make sure. The CR1 is the better route because you won't have to pay out $1010 for AOS right away and will get the green card quicker. There is a fee of $545 to remove conditions on the CR1 but that won't be until 21 months from POE>
