Work Contract Outside The USA

Hi All,

I've been offered a new contract in the UK up until November which is a great opportunity career wise and it's DOUBLE the pay I recieve now.

The problem is it's a contract until November and we get married in October (provided we get our visa).

Can I take the job, go to the USA for our wedding then come back to the UK and finish the contract and then depart for the US full time? I know there are rules about this but I'm not clear if they make an exceoption for things like work etc.

And no, I can't start the job and then leave in October - it's a project one would have to see out to the bitter end!!!

Not without AP. AP will take 3 months to receive applying with AOS.

Your better off just getting married, and then applying for a spousal visa. You wont need a visa (provided you qualify for VWP) to just get married and leave.

If you arrive on your K visa, get married and attempt to go back before you have either your greencard or an advance parole document, you will not be readmitted to the US without applying for a spousal visa.

Difficult to say... presuming you file for Adjustment of Status with AP and all that jazz immediately following the wedding you should receive EAD and AP within about 3 months, but I seriously wouldn't make firm plans since some people have had to wait longer.
