You might find it difficult to leave the country without your passport. Since the Consulate where the interview takes place will need to keep your passport to put the visa inside, you can plan on sticking around. You'll want to find out the visa delivery options for the country in question. Since you won't likely have a mailing address in country, I expect they can arrange for you to pick it up. Just contact the Consulate.

Do you know what country you will be having your interview in? I think Moldova falls under the Romanian consulate, but not sure. If so, I think you can pick up your visa/passport same or next day.

But you'll get those instructions in Packet 3, after NOA2.
