It's nice to hear my fellow Canucks call buns buns. Here it's rolls and when I say buns I get a wierd look :blink:

I totally forgot about that! :lol:

Yep. I get "the look" too. I've learned to immediately start wracking my brain for the American version.... or at least an alternate word for whatever I am saying. I look upon it as vocabulary building. icon2.gif

I was told the only thing here a bun means is an azz :lol:

And isn't it properly referred to as a candy bar down here? Everytime I so much as mention a chocolate bar down here, people do double takes and look at me like I just asked for an a$$ (bun.)

I've had Mrs T's perogies as well Marilyn and they are good! We had ravioli with Alfredo sauce last night. I got the ravioli at Costco, it was fresh...chicken with rosemary. Lovely. Made my own Alfredo sauce. Tonight we're going to have sliced roast beef on trailmix buns with creamy tomato and basil soup.

they are the only kind I seem to be able to find around here.. I had the potato and 3 cheese ones last night, they were good.. I boil them and then saute them in margarine... and then eat them with sour cream and bacon bits... yum!

Where do you all store your potatoes? Fridge? I always stored them in the cupboard, but today I took them out (only 2 weeks ago I bought this bag) and they were MOULDY and the bag was LEAKING barf!! So nasty, I just chucked them. Frozen fries it is tonight!

you need to store them somewhere cool and dry... which is a very hard place to find living here in LA :P so I don't buy potatoes often :P

not sure what is for dinner tonight.. I have some grr towards my hubby leftover from last night and not in the mood to cook him anything today :P

I have decided to have tomato cheese soup and a grilled cheese... and a bowl of vanilla bean ice cream for dessert..

hubby can have whatever he can find when he gets home :P

I made corn chowder last night with the leftover corn-on-the-cob. We will have that this evening with fresh biscuits/scones.

I always keep mine in the fridge in a drawer with other root vegetables. (onions, carrots, garlic, etc) With no root cellar or basement, I find the house too warm to keep them anywhere else.

not sure what is for dinner tonight.. I have some grr towards my hubby leftover from last night and not in the mood to cook him anything today :P

I keep our potatoes in the pantry - but - we have the airconditioner on all the time.

So I did make potato salad yesterday and nothing else. Mike stopped by Boston Market for the chicken meal - he ordered 2 - they made 1 - so that's what he came home with. That's ok though, we shared that and with a bit of potato salad on the side - it worked.

I am feeling totally uninspired as far as cooking goes. It could be the tiny kitchen, it could be the lack of ingredients - who knows (or cares :lol: )

I think I need to go look for some recipes that look interesting.
