yesterday I was in a crappy mood and ate a whole box of Mac and Cheese  yeah I know it was a bad thing to do but what's done is done...

today I am in a crappy mood again.. good thing I don't have any mac& cheese left :P

no idea what I am going to make yet... I just want to make something simple...

ok I think I just thought of what to make.. if I still have sausage I am going to make sweet and sour sausage with mashed potaotes or maybe rice...

I made my mom's sweet and sour recipe... 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup ketchup, 1/8 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup water and 2 tbsp cornstarch... mmm soo good

she would always make it with Farmer Sausage.. the best sausage ever invented but alas I can't buy it down here :crying:

I just used a plain sausage I found at the store and I also added green bell pepper...

Tried frozens steak stuffed with portabello mushrooms and swiss cheese tonight from Aldi's - wow, were they ever good! Basically, they come all ready to slip into the oven and bake for 50 minutes. Added mashed potatoes and frozen mixed vegetables - oh and a lettuce and tomato salad.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thai food again tonight (which I adore). Ever since I learned that a cup of my favorite massaman beef curry is 19 Weight Watcher Points (unfrickingbelievable, especially when a Big Mac is apparently only 13 points!) .... I usually have shrimp or scallops with veggies. Tonight, I had scallops. Hubby had drunken noodles with shrimp.

I saw this orange chicken recipe I thought might be good. Asparagus is still $1.98 a pound here, so we're going to have that with the chicken as well. Perhaps some rice with it.

glad you enjoyed.. when I was single that recipe was a permanent fixture on my fridge.. I made it at least once a week ...lol

It sounds yummy Marilyn :) What is Farmer sausage like? What kind of sausage here should I buy to substitute?

you could basically use it with any sausage... like garlic sausage, italian sausage etc... if you are going to use a less fatty type of sausage you might want to reduce the cornstarch as the sauce will get very thick, unless you like it like that ..lol...

not sure how to describe Farmer Sausage... I haven't seen anything here that is in anyway similar... it kind of has a smoky kind of sweet flavour...

Wiki says this "Smoked raw pork sausage of Mennonite origin"

the recipe was originally for ribs but my mom always used it with sausage...

I think I used Farmer John Smoked Sausage and it turned out pretty good...

and it is good served over rice or mashed potatoes...

We had Tbone steak last night that my Husband bought at Publix - it was really really good! I said it must be Canadian beef. Had garlic mashed potatoes and a salad with that.

We had pizza hut the night before - they sent us some of their boneless chicken wings by mistake (I called them and told them) - but wow they are good.
