Hello,

i recently got the appt. letter for the interview on feb,6 2008

but i am kind a concern about what all i should take to the interview.

does my fiancee need to go with me? i have seen some post that says that they all declined if no.

i did not know about the pay check stubs but very nice add on. please help me prepare

i was also wondering since it is the new year what can i do about the taxes. i have not even got my w-2s from my employers let alone filed the taxes

I wouldn't worry, they're not gonna deny you now. Just try not to freak out, be honest and give them the details they want on any of the questions. I've heard people say that the interview's often done in a conversational, friendly sort of way, so hopefully it won't be too bad.

You're meant to take your copy of the entire k1 petition your fiance originally sent in. You should have the originals of everything, all the original plane tickets, receipts, etc. Also you're meant to have evidence of your ongoing relationship, so any emails, letters, pictures, trip details, etc. that you have since the time the k1 was filed. And you're supposed to have a letter from your fiance saying he/she still wants to marry you.

Hopefully you have all that already, but you've got a few days to sort it out if you don't.

I don't know what else you're meant to have, you're a lot farther along than I am. Just make sure you read the instructions to everything they've sent you; and just to be safe, why not go ahead and take the originals/copies of everything you can possibly think of?

Also don't know if there are any particular things needed for your particular embassy. But instructions should have told you.

And taxes: they don't need to see any information on how much you make, your tax returns, or anything. But they do want to see financial information from your American fiance. There should be a way he/she can retrieve last year's tax returns and statements, but I don't even think you need to do all of that. I think if your fiance is over the 125% poverty line, then all you need to do is prove that.

i seen on some of those interview questions "when do you plan to leave the usa?" what is a good answer for that

I don't...actually...see that question. There's something asking when you'll leave FOR the US.

Regardless of whatever they ask, just be as honest and as detailed with them as possible, and you'll be fine. It is possible that they might try to trip you up but I think it's unlikely. If you don't understand a question they ask, you can ask them to clarify, too.

Make sure on any examples or guides you read you stick with the K1 stuff, that's what your fiance petition is.

i am sorry. on the ds-156 item number 26. it asks how long do you intend to stay

I don't even know what the ds-156 is xD I'm sorry. I'm not that far in the game yet.

I still just say, saying that you're going to stay in the US and live with your husband is obviously the answer, they just want you to be honest. If a question that they ask doesn't make sense to you, just tell them.

1.A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).2.Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy. 3.Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).4.I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a US Notary Public), with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.5.You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form. 6.A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.7.Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)
