Ok I spent the whole day looking for a lawyer to do my K-1 paperwork, and in the process I heard that If I visit the foreign consulate with my fiance, and ask for a visa, they will give it to her. I heard this from 4 different sources. Has anyone else heard of this?

K-1 Timeline

I-129F Sent - 3/4/2008

I-129F Recieved - 3/5/2008

I-129F Approved - 5/7/2008

Interview Date - 8/26/2008 - (Asked for petitioner to be interviewed as well, new interview Date 9/18/2008)

Interview 2 Date - 9/18/2008 - (Case Sent to review, and not DENIED as I orignally thought)

Gave up on K1 process - 9/19/2008

Canceled K-1 Petition - 5/1/09

Married - 5/30/2009

Recieved K-1 2nd Approval (HA!) - 6/6/2009

Long Honey Moon - 5/30/2009-10/14/2009

I-130 Timeline

I-130 Sent - 12/22/2009

I-130 Recieved - 12/23/2009

Received NOA1 Hardcopy - 1/4/10 (Dated 12/29/09)

NOA2 - 3/9/2010

Never heard of that, A K-1 fiancee is treated as an immigrant through the process, this requires extensive background checks by USCIS, NVC, and the Consulate. You cannot just walk in to the consulate and bypass the detailed process involved in approving the visa.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You can go to the embassy at interview time and attend the interview with her in SOME countries. Maybe that's what you heard/read...

Love timeline:

??? 2003 -------> Started chatting regularly, became good friends

Nov 2004 -------> Fell in love

Jan 2006 -------> Met (in person) for first time

Apr 2008 -------> Wedding

Jun 2008 -------> Closed on house together

K-1 timeline:

Jun 11, 2007 -------> I-129f sent

Mar 20, 2008 -------> Visa in hand

AoS/EAD/AP timeline:

Apr 26, 2008 -------> Wedding

Apr 28, 2008 -------> Filed (forms mailed)

Apr 30, 2008 -------> Forms received by USCIS

May 06, 2008 -------> Cashed check posted to account

May 10, 2008 -------> NOA1 received for EAD, AP, and AoS

May 10, 2008 -------> Biometrics appt date received

May 28, 2008 -------> Biometrics for EAD & AoS

Jun 11, 2008 -------> AoS case transferred to CSC

Jul 05, 2008 -------> AP Approval

Jul 09, 2008 -------> EAD approval

Jul 14, 2008 -------> EAD and AP received

Jul 17, 2008 -------> AoS approved (card production ordered)

Visa applicants can walk into US Consulates and walk out with a visitor visa but that's not the process for a fiance(e) visa. See the guides here for the K1 process.
