Thought I would give you all an update....

WOULDN'T YOU KNOW...that they are asking yet for more info!!! The paperwork HAS arrived from Rome, BUT, I do have to submit an updated Affidavit of Support (I-864). I'll be up in the attic getting the 2006/2005/2004 tax returns to submit with them as well. I'm meeting with our attorney to complete the affidavit. We're going to get our money'$ worth from him, by damn!!!! Hopefully, I will be able to go straight from the attorney's office to DHL and overnight the documents to Hicham.

He's already got his med/police certificate done and translated. Once he has these documents, he's to email that they are in his possession to the CO and they will schedule him an appointment to bring that in and his passport!!!!!

Even though this a real pain in the butt to have yet more documents to submit...at least we are at the end of the tunnel and we are standing in the light!!!!!

YIKES!!!!!! JUST MAYBE, this can all be done in the next couple of weeks and he can actually fly home with us!

Keep your paws crossed!

OMG Allousa -- let this be the final hurdle !!! I am praying they are finallllllyyyyy ready to stamp that visa on that passport -- signed sealed and DELIVERED. Insha'allah it should be the IR-1, so you'll be DONE with immigration (unless/until he wants to naturalize.)

As you said -- it would really be the most wonderful end to your long long longggggg separation -- to all fly home together at last (L) ...........

Sigh....nothing like being set up only to be let down! Wishing you a most speedy end to your long wait.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Thanks for the update - good to know that they are actively work on your file even it means additional documentation - wishing you a speedy processing - are you still planning to go in March? - it seems like his visa might be issued before that...

Best of luck!

D.

Can you cancel the March tickets and just bring him home in January if all goes well??

No, we aren't going to cancel the trip because my mother has purchased tickets as well and is going to fly over for one of the two weeks that my son and I are there. She's never been to Maroc before and we're going to take her to Fez and then Marrakesh for a long weekend. I'm very excited for her.

Also, Hicham and I have always said that when he was going to come back to the States, my son and I would fly over for a visit with his family because we don't know how long it will be before we can come back to see them.

Actually that sounds like a great plan - good idea!

I do believe it's going to be the IR-1. According to our attorney, Casa will give him the packet to hand over to the IO and they will mail him his Green Card. I have FOUR of the plastic document storage boxes in the attic for his Immigration stuff. Of course it's going back to May of 2001 and has even his paperwork from the Asylum case that was before we even met. I would love to have a huge bonfire and BURN all of that stuff....but I'm so cynical and hardened by CIS, that we will probably hold on to that stuff until we're both on Social Security...if there will even be SS when we get that age!!!

MK....we are STANDING in the light at the end of the tunnel....CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!!!!

I have SOOOOOOOOOOOO much to do, it's not even funny! I've got closets to clean out and drawers to empty PLUS getting all of the goodies that I'm going to take to his family and the packing all of our stuff. We've got 41 days left before we leave! Sounds like alot, but I don't know how I'm going to get it all done.

But you know....it's a wonderful problem to have!!!!

I really hope that in some way, our recent good luck really goes to show all of you still waiting, that you really can get through this. It's hard at times, but when you have faith in the love that you have, it will carry you all the way! (F)

Isn't it funny how it all works out ?? It's wonderful that you planned the trip before you guys knew about the approval !!!

That's why I feel like things should be moving for us soon. I'm happy with my job, I'm comfortable where I'm at right now. It's probably time to be uprooted !!!
