Regarding the questions sorrounding "Does the expedite follow it all the way through the embassy?" unfortunately, you have to start it all again, there is no measures or expedite jacket that will follow the approval. Seesm like they should have some thing, but not. The course of action is for me to continue to request support from my Congressman for help. This is what the USCIS, California Service Center told me. I am again stunned the right hand nver talks to the left, seems logical but it is not. However, I am going to continue to pray my congressman will help me get this done.

I requested a medical expedite after the petition was already at the consulate. I faxed a letter explaining the situation and my request to expedite the interview to the IV section at the consulate. I also had my Cardiologist prepare a letter detailing the situation, but before I got a chance to even fax the letter, the expedite was approved (Less than 24 hours for the approval). I made the request early November 2005 and a January 2006 interview was changed to mid November.

... and the Doctors diagnosis, limited in detail because of Hippa laws.

Just one minor correction here, as a physician: HIPAA only limits what we're allowed to disclose without the patient's permission. We're still allowed to give out everything we know to whomever you designate, as long as you give us the go-ahead.

And while we're rolling our collective eyes about government: HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. As the name suggests, it was originally meant to ensure you wouldn't lose insurance coverage when switching jobs. But thanks to Congress, some well-meaning privacy concerns turned into a massive paperwork increase. (If pro is the opposite of con, what's the opposite of progress? =)

Some people say I'm easily distracted, but that's not... Hey! A squirrel!
