Sports yamulke! Awesome.

My policy paper is going to the printer right now -- got the sign off yesterday. I am a happy bunny. And it's my birthday this week -- friends and family are going to take me out for dinner at a cheese restaurant. Yes, a cheese restaurant! It is sooooo scrummy. Here's the website: http://www.caseusnewhaven.com/ It's also a cheese shop as well.

Yay! Happy week everyone! :D

Mmmmmm ..... cheese. OMG, those menu items look gorgeous! *drool*

I want to love cheese, but too much dairy makes me so uncomfortable and bloated!

You're still in the UK, right? See your doctor and get a prescription for lactose tablets. They work great. Oh, and the older the cheese, the less lactose there is, so if you don't have any tablets.... go for the old! :D

Robin -- don't I remember hearing you say you and your husband had this idea for a cheese delivery service on a motorbike? It had a really funny/punny name...

Cheesey Rider!

Haha, that's awesome!

I have the same problem, but you can get these chewable tablets from Walgreens called lac-taid. You chew one right before you eat dairy and it helps keep you from bloating.

I just emailed all the foodies I work with the link...we're all drooling over the cheese restaurant!

Ooh, thank you to you and Krikit for the tips! I'll probably look out for those tablets when I move to the US. I've also just thought that another option is to try more sheep and goats cheeses.

I also love this from the Caseus website:

OUR GOAL IS TO PAMPER YOU WHILE EATING AT CASEUS. ANY REQUEST WILL BE CONSIDERED WITH THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.

Now that's what you want to hear! :D

FINALLY caught up with this thread! I had about eight pages to read, but given that I've changed my settings so there's something like 700 posts per page that's saying something :D

just wanted to note that I have stumbled upon a British section in every supermarket I've been in so far (Kroger, HEB and Randalls) and every one of them has had Heinz baked beans :D

two out of the three have also had Ribena... I've seen McVities of various varieties as well :)

otherwise, hello Charles x 9, for all the mornings I've missed :D

and I LOVE the idea of the FAQ linking in to the wiki entries :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

That is true with goat/sheep cheeses....I don't have the problems with them as I do with other dairy products. I am not sure why but ice cream is the worst for me. Last night I had a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich (only 140 calories in one) w/o taking the lactaid and I was miserable all night :o

Yay! Welcome back, StP!

Horrible weather here today. Rained all morning, now mild and dark and humid. Yuck. But... tomorrow is my birthday! :D

Enjoy your day tomorrow, Maven :) And Happy Birthday :D:dance::dance::dance:

Thanks! I am going to have a lie-in, then do some packing. I made an executive decision not to go into the office tomorrow, so I will try to keep work-related activities to a minimum. Might go to the beach if the weather's nice enough. B)
