Police checks from UK and Australia

So after a long long wait, we've finally got the package of forms...!

I'm applying through the London Consulate, and need to get police checks from both UK and Australia.

For the UK police check... all my time in the UK has been in the London Metropolitan area, so that simply means using form 3019B from the Met website and then taking it to a police station, yes? And fingerprints are NOT required, is that correct?

For the Australian police check... this means getting fingerprints taken at a local police station (which would be here in the UK), attaching them to completed form NE-CR100 from the AFP website, and applying for a fingerprint AND National Police Check application. Is that right?

Thanks for any advice - it makes the whole process so much easier to have all this great help!!

Yes, use the form on the Metropolitan Police Website. I've read that many people were able to take the form into the police station with payment and 2 forms of id and obtain a receipt. I had problems with this, but I am in the West Yorkshire Constabulary area and it may be their policy not to accept applications in person. I posted mine off.
