Hey, thanks for the help! I've made sure to make copies of everything I sent over. One more question: The instructions say "It is useful to bring letters, photographs, and other evidence of your relationship with you." Do they want him to bring these items to the interview? Or are they wanting these submitted with the documents that we are sending in? :)

Filiz,

Thank you for your prayers. I am starting to lose hope, you know? I don't know why this is taking soooo long. It has been 19 months that we have been waiting for the K-3. I wonder if this will ever end. I would like to see you in the summer too.

Sibel

19 months! Good grief, does it really take that long? Now I'm worried it will take 2 years for us since relations aren't so good between the US & Iran.

Sibel, don't lose hope!

We all know how hard this waiting period has been on you and your husband and that you have been trying all you can to get the process moving by contacting the embassy and anyone involved with the case that can help you. But 19 months is a bit too long and I would continue to contact all involved and emailing the embassy everyday if I had too until they got so sick of me that they would have to approve my husband just to get me off their backs!!!

Well... that is just me and my way

Of course your husband will get his approval, I am only sorry to see that it has taken this long.

Listen, we are all here for you and hopeful and praying for your approval. Something has to happen for you and your husband within the next few months or I pray much much sooner. Just don't lose faith, your happiness will come soon. (L)

Hello everyone!

Hope all is well?

Me..I am of course stressing...I leave on the 16th! I am at the moment looking over my documents to see if they are complete. I have to work 3 more days until I go and I need to pack. I emailed the embassy upset that they wouldn't possibly let me in (see Filiz's interview experience) and they said I was welcome inside-I hope so since it IS the U.S Embassy...geez. I will check in with you guys again before I go.

TTFN

Erika

Also, please pray for no hassles and God forbid...AP!! :help:

Hi Erika,

You should be able to go into the Embassy if you insist on it enough being that you're American, just have your passport on hand to show them.

Try not to stress much and pray everything goes smoothly for you both. Good Luck and Best Wishes on the interview, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for your approval! (F)

Have a safe and pleasant flight and a happy reunion with Hamit.

Hi all!

I am sorry I haven't been around much lately - I have been crazy busy with teaching and school and of course Onur!

My best friend had a welcoming party for Onur last weekend, a bunch of my family and friends came and it was a great time. Onur seems to be hitting it off with just about everyone! I'm sure that in a couple of months he will know more people in Cleveland than I do! He is so outgoing and sincere - it's hard not to like him, but then again I am a bit biased

I have a two-week long spring break starting next week which we are both looking forward to. We will finally get to spend more time together, sight seeing, visiting friends and taking some trips outside of Cleveland. And I'll be able to help him sign up for some classes, find a soccer team and get involved in some more things so he doesn't become bored out of his mind while I am at school. Right now he says he feels like a housewife...he drops me off and picks me up from work everyday, does the dishes, cleans up around the house, runs errands and gossips with his friends in Turkey online  He has met a lot of people around the neighborhood already and is quickly making connections - he met a couple of Turks and Egyptians and we found a Turkish market that recently opened nearby (although he seems to be fine with American food). He loves donuts, pizza, and Mexican food and has gained a few pounds since he has been here! But he's thin and has such a fast metabolism that he can pretty much eat whatever he wants - no fair!

He is most shocked by suburbia and all of the houses. We are talking about buying a house within the next year depending on our job situation. If I find a good teaching position for next year and he finds a stable job we just might! It's really unbelievable how cheap houses are right now, especially in Cleveland.

He says Americans are very friendly and outgoing...people will come up to him and say "Hey man, I like your jacket - where'd you get it?" and he says people wouldn't do that in Turkey. I teased him about it a little saying, "I thought Americans were cold and selfish?" - something he had alluded to in the past.

I will try to check in more often - I hope everyone is doing well.

Filiz - how was your arrival in the States? Where are you living?

Sibel - you know I am here for you and thinking of you all the time. I agree with the others, don't lose hope! I know it's so easy to say...but your day will come and all of this ####### you are going through right now won't matter anymore.

Erika - good luck with the interview! I think it will help a lot that you will be there. Keep us posted!

Wendy - Any news?

Mina, Tanya, Debra, awaterlily & everyone else - I hope you are happy and well!

Ahemmmm...Julia...?... don't ya' think it's time to get rid of your little signature? You ARE living your happily ever after. Thanks for your update, it is so refreshing to hear.! I am so glad you are both as happy as can be! I am soo soo happy for everyone who is with their loved ones finally-well, most of us anyway....lol

Sibel....Wendy...and I..I do declare that we are the last ones standing, yes? We are almost ready for that get together! Hurry Hamit, Yilmaz and Muhammet! Prayers for us all. (L)

Thanks for your words Mina-how are you? Tanya, long time no see...how are you and the bebek doing? Filiz is lost in her dream come true-it will take her a bit before she updates us...lol

!

I am leaving on Monday...oh my God :o Not a thing ready! Except the documents, because we all know documents and visas are of utmost importance, sometimes more important than love itself if you don't watch it.

Anywho, looks like we will be in Ankara on the 17th with his interview the next day on the 18th at 0900. I cannot even imagine sitting there so anxious waiting until it's all finished whereupon I may pass out with joy or pass out from shock depending on the outcome! We are then headed to Batman on the 20th to stay with with his parents to wait (hopefully) for the visa and back to Ankara for a night on the 28th before departing for our flights early on the 29th and it kills me to think about the possibility that I will be coming back alone :crying: Well, hopefully I can update you daily on our travels once we get to Batman near a computer. I will be so devastated if I have to come back alone.

Good news is that name checks are going to become increasingly quicker with a goal of 30 days by June-as you know when they 1st started this Julia's AP also was coincidentally only 6 months. Anyhow, maybe I am getting a little too excited but don't all name checks go through UCICS and the FBI once AP is begun? I am only planning for the worst case scenario: AP

Anywho-see ya soon!

Obviously I am not in the right mind running off and starting a topic in which I meant well, but was way too excited at news that I really didn't finish reading and posted it as truth. Hopefully, they delete it soon before any damage is done.

Sorry Sibel-hope I didn't upset you. I am hoping that you seen my rant all over your comments and rolled your eyes and thought silly silly girl-so naive and fooli :( sh  Sorry! Truly.
