Ok..well I tried my dress on this morning....to find .. it's too big! It fit perfectly when I bought it.

Well this is normally a good problem, but I just got off the phone arguing with the store I bought it from. They had told me if I needed to exchange sizes, they'd do it. They didn't mention it had to be within 90 days! It was 101 days ago that I bought it. However, they finally agree. Now I have to go drive 1.5 hours to exchange the dress....ooooo what we do for love

Door-to-door is 26-27 hours for me, and the longest journey I've taken has been 72 hours; Gaye, you and Ricky have my full sympathy! I'm hoping that once I'm in the US I won't have to travel back to the UK every year but will manage to get my friends/family to visit me occasionally instead.

Ticket prices are around $1600 for economy in the summer but in winter time they're only around $850 so I foresee a lot of Christmas visits. That is also why I'm planning to have my wedding in the autumn/winter-time.

I think door to door will be about the same for me... and yep, it will be more like xmas visits as well over here, its a lot cheaper (however, your summer ticket is my winter ticket lol.. during summer I pay double from that :S bleh... living in paradise does cost lol)

I don't know how many hours it will be door to door.. there is additional 6-7 hours travel if i'd count door to door .. and i heard yah, about the plane ticket prices... 1way ticket for us if we'd go 1st week of june would be 800+ per person.. by mid june to august it will be 1,800++ per person with northwest (one way ticket)... while it will only be 700++ per person if we would opt to go there by september.... so I don't know now when we will go... I do want the kids to be there and be able to adjust to the new place and new everything before school starts in august 25. .. i have already asked too much from them when I decided to marry Ricky and move half way around the world, i just don't want to push them to start with the new school (which is already stressful in itself) without getting acclimated to the new environment, new house, new people, new weather, new language, new foods, and everything else that would be new.

I'd say BIG BIG CONGRATS!!!! I wish I could drop a few dress sizes also... I wouldnt mind driving 1.5 hours if i would only drop a few dress sizes.

:S it will be 3weeks on wed, it's frustrating and sad to see other people get dates when they sent it out after and it took them less than a week I feel like something happened with ours something is wrong... thrown on a desk somewhere forgotten about like it's nothing important

I feel for you. it would really frustrating to wait longer when you are almost there. ... what did NVC & embassy tell you the last time you called?

I hope and pray that you will get the interview schedule next week.

Thank you, I don't think anyone who is not going through this understands when I tell them. And I hope so tooooo, we called them last wed I believe and they said it was processing. I don't know how long that takes though but if we still haven't received it by this wed I think we will give them another call. Not knowing drives me crazy!

When I called they confirmed all the paperwork was good and just waiting for London to schedule an interview.

In the US embassy here, they just wait for NVC to send the approved petition and then a day or two after receiving the hard copy they let us call to set up interview schedule: that's the new procedure here. Before, it was the NVC which determines the interview sched and they only send the papers to the embassy when there is available interview sched already.... i don't know the process in London but if it was me, I would call NVC daily till they get irratated and give me an interview sched ASAP... well, it might cost to call NVC but.... hayyy, in one way or another, there are just some glitches in every US embassy. ...

I do hope and pray that you both (sally and susie) get that interview sched next week. hold on tight and stay strong.

The papers are in London waiting for the London Embassy to schedule an appointment, I think we just have to wait, but anyone knows different let us know, Thanks

Well we are starting another week. I hope everyone gets to their "next step" this week!

I found out last week that I have to go to Canada on May 5th. Marco gets here May 2nd.....bummer! I feel bad that I have to leave, but...such is work!
