Out of curosity what do you know of that have been reasons to have a visa refused?

This is a very broad question, and there are many, many reasons that can apply to different circumstances. Can you be more specific about what type of visa you are talking about ?

In general, one of the most common reasons for denial is fraud (or suspicion of fraud.) Other reasons include ineligibility due to criminal record, previous problems with violating U.S. immigration laws, previous deportation, or submitting false information/documents during the application process.

If it's a visitor's visa you're asking about, it could be denied due to suspicions of intent to immigrate.
