Maribel, my fiancée went to take the class today. She called and was told all she needed was 2 pieces of ID. From reading various posts here i told her to bring her passport, other ID,and pictures of us together. they asked for all that PLUS my mothers maiden name, what my degree was in and the yr,( these she knew) but then they also wanted to see copies of my divorce decrees. needless to say she didn't have them and i had to email for her to print out. Just thought I'd let others know it seems they are asking for more info than their own site says.

Hello,

Can you please tell me what class you are talking about. Correct me, if I am wrong. Are you saying that the interview for the K1 visa is in two parts.

-AOS

- and Questions about that she must know.

If this is true please tell me the questions. If she gets some questions wrong-mybe because we never discussed them.

Thank you

The CFO class that wizardfitz was referring to is the Guidance and Counseling session required by the Philippine government, which is conducted by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), which is part of the Philippine government. It has nothing to do with the US immigration requirements. It is a Philippines-specific requirement.

hello mike!!! that is very odd to me, why they have to ask ur divorce decrees, etc. well, in my case was totally different cuz I went there and i brought my marriage certificate, passport, pictures, etc. and i never had a problem of course. What would i advice to qaia, she can go back to CFO once she's done with her interview to the u.s embassy which a lot of people i know did. Atleast, CFO could see that she already got a visa, so i just think it would be a lot easier.. just a thought though!!! :D

when i had my cfo last nov. of 2006 they also asked alot of requirements/personal questions (which i had more trouble to answer compared to my visa interview lol  ) yes divorce decree is one important thing especially if you tell them your fiance/e is divorced. the maiden name of the petitioner's mom etc... i was just glad that my husband (then fiance) was there with me in manila and he brought all the docs that we need for the interview so it helps, (plus reading through vj and other furoms too)

good luck to all!!!
