I'm looking over the DS-156 and under question#20 it asks for name and address of my present employer.

I'm a self employed freelance writer, so do I list myself as employer or go with a current one?

My yearly income and earnings are usually divided up amongst a number of companies -- just put in the most current/recent?

In #20 I wrote 'self employed' and I wrote my home address as the employer's address and in #21 I put 'Internet Researcher' (you would put 'writer') and my form was accepted just fine. I didn't mention my clients at all. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thank-you Gillian. I see where we have to list the previous 10 years employment on another form so that should cover that.
