If I could i would work for USCIS just so I can approve all the I751 that has been pending, all of them with no exceptions in a week or less.

You know I think I know what is holding our Applications, I -751 goes through 2 steps:

The first one when an IO look at it and approve it, if he does , he stamped as approved and log that into their internal system

the second step is when he pass it to an office clerk, this one has to go toanother system to order the card, then update the online status, I think they approved all our cases , but the clerck part is taking FOREVER, from my research this is the hold up I think

Can you explain where the RFE comes in along the way of step 1 and 2? I got the RFE with a different LIN receipt number. Some people on this board mentioned something about the IO found out the files were lost when trying to order the actual card. It really doesn't make any sense to me.

well i think what seaflower said might make sense because when i was looking at the USCIS and did a lot of search about I-751 i don't remember when but i found something written similar to what she is saying in their website that it gors through 2 persons , the first if they approve it stap the file and the second is the clerk that order the card, let me look for it again and i will try to post it

This might sound a little silly. The RFE asked us to send in the tax returns with ANY attachments. So I included all our W2s, bank interest statements, and investment account statements. Should I be worried that now the government knows all our financial secrets like bank account number? Now they also know I make about the same as my husband. I certainly hope they do securely shred these documents.

Hey Guys,

We have been reading posts on this forum for sometime now and needless to say, NickD, Illinois, Illinois77, Iansig and poor old seaflower, all seems like friends who are stuck just like we are :). I decided to write this post to share my experience with everyone. I am one of the Feb 07 filers, who got transferred to CSC, mid april.

Anyway, I decided to call customer service on Friday the 2nd. and I was told by the customer service agent, that for some reason she wasn't able to do the service request (system wouldn't let her do it) and was transferred to an IO (second level customer service). I talked to a very nice lady. She said that my application was pending, they are sorting them as they received them (based on batches in which they received them) and that I should hear something in a couple of months.

Great..I should have been happy with that, but god knows why, inspired by Iansig and NickD :) I decided to call them again on Monday (Yesterday). This time, I told customer service guy that we had been waiting on our application for several months now and would like to talk to an second level supervisor for some specifics such as is there anything we could do to speed up the process. He was nice and he transfered me to an IO. I was actually surprised he did that. This time the IO said let me look into your case and then she said that there is a note make on your case, in first week of april stating that CRI89 was "administratively closed". WHAT??????? Are you SERIOUS. I went into PANIC mode.

I told her that I had not received any other correspondence, except for the transfer to CSC letter and that why is my case "administratively closed"? Well she said she didn't know.

Well, know I needed a second opinion. I called back again and this time I asked to speak to an IO and explained to them what I had been told. I was transferred to the IO. This time I talked to a different lady, I told her what was going on and she said to me that, "Who told you your case is closed? That's absurd. I am an IO and that I can tell you that we are still processing your case. I will submit and service request for you and you should hear form us soon."

Now I am really confused, Who should I believe? So I called customer service again. I told them my situation and told them how I had heard contradictory information and that I needed some help. I literally begged to talk to an IO again since I was panicking. I got transferred again after a lot of requesting and this time, again I talked to a different IO.

I explained to her all that was going on and she told me that I it does look like there was a note made that the CRI89 was "administratively closed" and I had to wait to hear from them on why they did that.

In the mean time, Online status says "Case pending". Level 1 Customer Service says we are still processing your application.

Only God knows what is going on.

I just thought I would share my experience with those from Jan and Feb of 2007 who still feel stuck. And thanks NICKD, PeterT, Iansig, and everyone else for continuous support.

Keep calling them everyday, administratively closed what do they mean by that , they closed your case for what???????

s=keep calling them seriously , for me it seems that they closed it and that they will not bother to approve it or denied it is just closed

also I called them on friday and I did a service request they never mentioned that they had problems with their system , they even gave me a Ticket number and told me i should hear something within 5 weeks, the customer service verified my adress and email and phone number

i don't want you to freak out but your situation is weird

From what I understood from the IO I talked to this is how the RFE came in between the 2 steps. Our application had gotten to the point where they were going to order the card production. When they were at the point where they put our case information into the older system (that requires the different receipt #) they looked into our physical file and "discovered" that there wasn't any supporting documentation. So they send out the RFE to get that information back to have in the file. And then when that evidence is received, the card production should be ordered relatively quickly.

I don't know if they lost my file or they just need EXTRA evidence. The letter they sent us was asking the same list of things we sent in the I-751 package. So I re-sent copies of the original evidence plus some more recent lease/statement. The thing is we sent two notarized affidavits by my mother-in-law and a friend in the original I-751 package. Now we only have photocopies. I sent the copies, too, just in case. I don't know if I did the right thing.

I remember you got the RFE a while ago. Just curious if you have sent the response and gotten approved already? Thanks a lot for the information.
