Got my NOA1 today!

I wasn't expecting to get it for another month given the backlogs... but somebody must have been in a hurry. My NOA1 was in the mail today, only 17 days after we mailed off the application. Hooray!

One surprise though... the receipt came from the Vermont Service Center?! We live in Florida and mailed the app to Texas as directed... I thought they were parcelling the work off to California, not Vermont...

STAGE 2B - Applying for AOS to GC Approval - 9 months, 4 days (279 days)

STAGE 3 - Lifting Conditions. Filing (19 Dec 2007) to Approval (December 11 2008)

STAGE 4 - CITIZENSHIP (filing under 5-year rule - residency start date on green card Jan 11th, 2006)

Someone else had the same thing happen. Maybe California is getting backlogged too and they're trying to even out the workload.

They must be... I'm not complaining - I'm just surprised that they were so quick to get to mine! I hope the rest of the process goes so smoothly... I can't wait to be done with Immigration - it seems a bit strange, but in a year I can apply for citizenship! (and I plan to...)

You are not the first I have seen who applied to TSC and got shipped to VT. I was talking to my husband about this earlier today. It is just ironic, considering it is ME who would like to be shipped there (I grew up in VT about 40 minutes from VSC and most of my family still lives in the area). I'll post whenever we get our NOA where TSC has pimped us out to.
