i arrived here last January of this yr. so it's gona be my first Christmas here in the US. i was dreaming of a white Christmas when i was still in phil. (or perhaps i was just singing along with the song then lol)... im very excited to be here at last coz i've got to spend my Christmas with my husband for the first time  super cool... "but" i wont be spending it with my mom and my brothers :( ... thats the sad part... its way too different back in phil yet i welcome it with open arms about the differences. like cutting a real tree and pouring it some waters to keep it alive lol... snow in the backyard and just the two us with my husband openning the gifts at midnight :) ... funny thing too is that we also bought gifts and wrap it for our dogs and a cat (which one of our dog accidentally open my husband's gift instead of his... so i have to rewrap it fast  )...

anyways im just curious about the other vj family too about their first Christmas in the US or their first Christmas together with the love of their life (L) ...

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!

Well I envy you. This will be our first Christmas and we are apart. It is sad but she is taking the opportunity to really enjoy it with her family since it will be her last one there.

Your tree looks great!

Robin and I just arrive here last April of this year and this is gonna be the very first American Christmas we will spent together ., complete with the snow , the cold weather of course, fireplace where we hanged the stockings and real Christmas tree that exactly about my height , lol! hmmm , nothing can beat the fresh smell of pine tree around the house. The gift opening should be the best part of the day .

Athough I'm gonna miss my mother and my family back home and the very festive way of spending our PASKO, I am looking forward to our 1st Christmas spend just the three of us here.:dance:

someday if we can afford a plane ticket during the holidays (which is humongous during xmas season), i wish we could spend xmas in phil together with my husband

wow ate luzy i like ur tree!!! ive been planning to put more ornaments but got no time heheh... we dont have a fire place here although we have a fake chimney (the one who made the house that time must be drunk for putting a chimney without a fire place lol), so i just hang our stockings on the railings. 2 big ones for my husband and i and 3 small ones for our pets and the other 2 extra are just for decorations heheh

A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS INDEED

We pass the interview on Dec. 5th, I get to bring my wife and stepdaughter home with me on the 13th (one week ago), we move into our new house on Saturday, and get to put our tree up on Sunday with the fireplace going !!

Although besides culture shock, I'm seeing signs of homesickness too, I realize how special and how much they're going to miss Christmas in the Philippines.

Thanks RonMay for starting this thread.

I arrived in Florida last October and so far everything has been great. Meeting Joe's family ( from his Aunt to nieces and nephews) getting married, a wonderful honeymoon and settling down. Florida weather is just awesome. While most of my friends in Chicago, Iowa and Ohio are freezing I am roaming around in shorts and sleeveless although its colder here now but no snow.

For sure I will miss Philippine Christmas but I am very happy being with my husband for our first Christmas together. So many gifts to wrap. The annual Lahman Christmas exchange gift party was a hit and as new member of the family, I got a lot of gifts

I insisted that like in the Philippines, we stay awake Christmas eve, eat at midnight and open the gifts :) because here, they sleep through Christmas eve . . we agreed to do that next Christmas :)

My best Christmas gift? My wonderful husband Joe

Merry Christmas everyone!!

This will be my wife's and daughter's first Christmas here. I know they miss their family, friends and the way Christmas is celebrated in the Philipiines. now that we're together, we'll create our own family Christmas traditions. Christmas is what you make it to be, wherever you may be...

Merry Christmas everyone.

I arrived here last February and this will be my first christmas in the US and i'm veru excited. We don't have snow here in Las Vegas so it feels like im in the Philippines except for my family are not around. We have a 7 ft. Christmas tree its not real but its very pretty. Since we don't have snow in here, i've made lots of snow flakes and stick it anywhere around the house, we don't have stockings on our freplace because as my husband said its just for kids and we don't have one. I'm very excited because i'll be spending Christmas with my husband for the first time. We will be having Ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, vegetables, cheesecake and eggnog for christmas eve. And the most exciting part is the opening of the gift, i can't wait to see what's his christmas gift for me. Normally i can't resist to open immediately the gifts that i've received lol,but this time i tried to control my self and let the gifts under the christmas tree unopened until the christmas eve. Merry Christmas to all

Hello everyone,

It will be also our first christmas here in the U.S. and i am enjoying it so much. My daughter is really enjoying attending christmas parties and exchanging gifts, courtesy of my inlaws :D We had our family christmas party yesterday (dec.22) and all of my husbands relatives were there. Our kids got a bunch of gifts .. not to mention the $250 check that was in my gift of winter clothes .. :P so sweet, lol.

I couldn't wait to open my gift from my husband until Christmas though; even though he says it's not allowed, i insisted, hehehhe, it was a Vuitton bag.

This will be mine and Ashley's greatest Christmas; she now has a father, 2 older brothers, and an older sister which she always dreamed of. We are really blessed for having such a wonderful Family....

Merry Christmas everybody !!!
