You would have to know the ' rest of the story' to understand this thread. If you do not understand what it says then it does not pertain to you.

MrsAkindle did not call anyone a name but referred to the repeated posting habits of some people as Haterade......toxic and unhelpful.

Lonelyforlagos this has nothing to do with religious or political issues. Again, if you don't understand then let it go. There are many in this forum that do.

There is a time to be silent and a time to speak I agree.....this topic was the time to speak.

It was done without anger by the OP, not in defense but common sense. Enough said.

Obviously there's a big backstory involved, but the point I was making is that this type of thread only perpetrates more drama. If someone was hating on my fiance's country sayin 'oh they're bad etc', I WOULD address it, however, I wouldn't feel the need to justify my own relationship. if it became chronic, I'd either ignore it or report it to admin if it got bad enough. Because if the person is indeed a troll, a thread like this plays right into his/her hands.

people may be 'out of the loop', but this is a public forum, after all. And if ya want my outsider .02, all this justifying (to me) about 'oh my relationship is this that and the other' hints that whoever this thread was directed to actually achieved her purpose of rattling a few ppl.

Yes, you are correct about it being a public forum and anyone is of course welcome to add their 0.02 cents.

It baffles me however that someone would think they understand each post in every regional forum or the current possible issues with certain posters.

They do not and then drama and misunderstandings follow.

I know you yourself take issue with things instead of reporting a person and that is what was accomplished here by me and MrsAkindle.

I see no reason to report, neither am I offended enough to ignore. I am simply taking a stand with my opinion. I need no defense.

Though it is puplic, it may be more beneficial to post where one understands the topic fully and can appreciate the current flow and flavor.

I see no defending but I see deliberate positive influence amidst constant negativity from certain posters.

I see a rising up of testimonies of how good God is and how blessed we are.

I completely understand and have given up on trying to help her. I understood why Sharee posted and others on our forum who have experienced the unnecessary negativity understand as well. VJ members who don't regularly read our forum, don't get it, so whatever. I just ignore them cause their comments are made in a vacuum. I've been trying to ignore her posts, but I understand how hurtful it was to Sharee after all she's gone through to finally have some positive news and to be pissed on. It sucks. Truly.

Let's move on and celebrate the good news. Maybe you'll have a second interview now Sharee or maybe you'll go straight to visa and homebound! Sending positive vibes your way! Good Luck Girl!!

People often speak out of ignorance. Well, that's their problem....we just got to brush it off our shoulders. There is a bigger much happier picture to think about and thats getting our loved ones here.

Nothing in life is guaranteed...except for death, but that does not mean that we should not try anything at all (no matter what it is). And it certainly does not mean that we should be bitter and spew our negativity on others.

Lets keep the encouragement flowing, along with the positive energy and ignore all else that goes against it.

I think we like the drama on these posts every once in awhile. It gets our minds off what we are going through in the real world. Sort of like dispaced anger and frustration at what we have to face during the immigration process. I certainly get a kick out of it. As for the negativate comments, I try to gnore them, takes the wind from their sails.

Asante Maron you couldn't of said it better. I really do not know what is going on, nor do I want to involve myself. I'm posting to say it was a good read to get all the opinions of everyone reading the Haterade topic, it did wonders in taking my mind of my current situation. Hating on others is not cool, we all have and will experience ups and downs in life and it's up to you to shake it off, let go and let God.
