Help! She has biometrics tomorrow...

My wife is scheduled for biometrics tomorrow morning. However, she was hospitalized today after having several contractions. They let her out this evening, but the contractions are continuing about once an hour.

What do we do if she can't make the appointment? I can mail the reschedule request, but by the time the ASC actually receives it, I'm afraid the CSC will consider the application abandoned because she's a no show tomorrow. There's no way to call the ASC to explain the situation and my previous experiences with the NCSC 800 number leave me with zero confidence that they'll give me sound advice.

Any suggestions?

If it turns out to be false labour and she is able to make it, then go to the appointment tomorrow. If she is in labour, then mail in the request, explaining that she was in labour and asking to reschedule the biometrics. They are unlikely to consider that she has abandoned the application that quickly and when the form reaches them they will most likely be able to re-schedule. You certainly have a valid reason! You can also call the 1-800 line and I think (if I remember correctly) there is an option for 'you have an appointment' - click that and you may be able to speak to someone and explain the situation. Do both - and CONGRATULATIONS! I hope the birth goes easy for the three of you.

Well, it turned out to be false labor so she was able to make the appointment. Now we can forget about lifting of conditions for now and focus all our attention on getting ready for the baby.

I just noticed they updated her case today. Must be to indicate that the biometrics were done.

Can I ask this?...........When Andre had his AOS biometrics and EAD biometrics, the letter said show up on this date at this time and if you can't make it that date come any Wednesday (?) after this date; but before this date. Doesn't the lifting of conditions biometrics letter say the same?

I don't know cause we haven't been through that yet. Just wondering for future reference.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I think different support centers have different operating procedures. I know when I received my biometrics (2nd one) for my AOS it was two days before we were to leave for a Christmas holiday - and the appointment was scheduled for the day before we returned. The form said that if I didn't show up they would consider the application abandoned, but if I couldn't make it to send in the notification to reschedule the appointment - and they would decide whether or not to reschedule it! I hand delivered the request for a new appointment to the support center the next day along with copies of our travel itinerary verifying I had a good reason to miss the appointment. There was nothing on the form that gave an option to show up on any other day of the week, so I wanted to make sure they received the notification. They rescheduled me for about 6 weeks later.
