Bringing Cell Phone to USEM?

Last time I was there.. You have to check in your mobile phone and a ID and they will give you #. So No mobile phones inside USEM.

Do they still do this? Or its an absolute Cellphone BAN @ USEM now inside and outside?

They will not even let you through the gate with a cell or any other electronic device, including mp3 players and electronic key fobs for a car.

They let me checked in my phone at the counter where they are scanning my stuff and gave me a number but all the people outside said that because I am with my husband who is a USC thats why they allowed it. Those bystanders are convincing people who are trying to come inside that let them handle their cellphone for USEM are not allowing it. They actually had a fight with one girl who just came out from the embassy premises and advised the girl that she can leave it in the counter coz those people can steal it. They argued. Hehehe. I dont know if that girl listened to her. I advise to leave it at home for the interview will not last that long. Good luck.

i was able to checked in 2 celphones and a digital camera at the counter where your things are being scanned. the guards gave me a number as a receipt. they asked for three IDs for each but i only have one available ID with me. i guess, just like lhedyjoe, it was because my 2yr old baby is a USC and even the yaya was allowed to tag along with us.

Prior to March 1, 2007 you could check your electronic devices at the counter. Now you can not bring them onto the embassy grounds Save yourself some grief and leave them at home or in the hotel room.

Yeah.. Lhedy and prettyfacenbody just had their interview and they brought their phone/electronics outside the premises.

the celphones were not outside the premises. i forgot to leave it with our driver. so it was with me when we entered the first gate where your things are being screened. the guards where so nice they let me leave with them my celphones and the digicam with only one ID in exchange for a number as a receipt.
