Hi all.

Just a quick post to show how fast the process can happen once uscis approve the visa!

Around 15th October - Receive packet 2

22nd October - Arrange medical and send package back to england embassy from USA.

31st October - Receive interview date for 7th November.

The only problem is that the interview is the same time as the medical so i now have to re-arrange it!

Anyone worrying about time please do not, they are so fast once uscis have approved the visa! I sent in a covering leter with my packet 2 asking for an early interview and they did it no problem, if your in a rush probably a good idea to send in a letter!

ooh thanks for sharing that!

i am sure people will say it can take a lot longer, and i am sure it can, but as a fellow brit its very comforting to hear a story like yours, so thanks alot and congratulations on being one step closer to the end of the line and good luck for the interview...there is a great french restaurant on south audley street just off grovesnore square where the embassy is...they do the best eggs hollandaise, i lived there before and its a good place to go for champagne and lunch if you get it!!!

I am so happy for you, but I can't say that I'm sharing your sunny outlook at this point. I received a letter from the NVC dated 9/17 saying they were about to send our case to the Consulate, and yet my Fiance still has not received his first packet! It has been a month and a half, and I know about the recent mail strikes in London, but I'm starting to worry that something is wrong....but what could it be?! anyway I'm about to spend $16 on a 7 min. phone call to the Consular's Office on Monday to see if I can discover anything.

April 17 - Mail K-1 to CSC

April 19 - Date received on return receipt from post office

May 17 - Package received by CSC

May 18 - Mystery NOA1 sent [or not sent] to me in another dimension

May 21 - $$$ check cashed

*no notice ever arrives.. I eventually figure out how to log onto the gov't website to find out the info and dates i listed above.

Aug 03 - I call USCIS for info, they can only confirm what website says

Aug 10 - Had appt.w/ an Immigration Officer...they deny ever sending any notice at all. Status shows "received" on my account - nothing more.

Good for you, i'm happy it went fast. However it really depends on which embassy / country your fiancee is from. China for example from "NVC out" to interview is usually around 5 months and thats the fast track. China embassy " GUZ" does not open provisional files or expedite. If you look at the Dominican Rupublic the usual wait for a interview, after usics approval is over a year.

Remember alot of us are not engaged to folks from Europe.

Good luck with your interview

Yes it does depend on the country. Vita had her interview the very next day after she turned in packet 3. It took about 3 weeks overall between when the embassy received the packet until the interview date.
