I just want to know what is the difference between the Php 1,200.00 and the Php 185.00 CENOMAR?

According to the NSO staff the one thousand two hundred pesos has a red ribbon and will pass thru Malacañang.

Will US Embassy accept the CENOMAR without the red ribbon? ( I'm saving money for christmas :D )

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Lily

P1,200???? who told you that??

You apply CENOMAR in your city hall and it's about on that price P180-200. after that give time to process it by yourself than paying someone to do it.

After getting the CENOMAR-NSO, you sending it to Malacanang to certified it, can't remember how much but it range P100-200. you go very early in malacanang so you could get it around 2 or 3pm then you could proceed to DFA to red ribbonized it, then you could get it after 4-7 days.

When i collected my birth cert, cenomar, my nbi cert., & my son birth cert from NSO. I personally manage to do that in malacanang & DFA in same day red ribbonize all documents before my interview date.

But if you're lazy to take the challenge of knowing how to process your documents by yourself, then pay P1,200 to someone called "fixer" lurking aroung the cityhall. You're not sure when you could have the documents after you pay.

About your question .... i don't know if they will accept it, since i ribbonized all important documents before we started the petiton. Hope someone here could answer that for you.

Goodluck! (F)

Hi,

The cenomar should cost only 180-200 php. It is absolutely NOT needed to get it certified...this is a waste of time and money. The cenomar comes from the NSO and so this is all thats needed. If the embassy wishes they will request thier own copy from the NSO.

Maraming Salamat rebelheart for the information.

I guess if I'm not "kuripot" that day I lost 1,200 pesos. My goodness its a fixer (the NSO staff at Lipa City).

This will be a lesson for me. I need to be always alert because usually I'm alone going out. I thought

philippine government employees changed already.

I noticed that other members says NO NEED to have a CENOMAR bec if USE needs it they are the one who will request from NSO.

But, I have the Copy from NSO just in case. I'm still undecided if I will go to Malacañang to certified it and DFA to put red ribbon.

Any advice from those who passed the interview in USE? :help:

Lily,

as jazzy said .. no need to ribbonized it... since USE only asked for an NSO paper certified copy of birth or other documents like cenomar. USE will asked if you need other important documents, but its nice you have your own copy just in case. money wise, i will advise you don't need to rush to ribbonzied it. just wait if it was been asked. In my case because i've been out of the Phils before to work in New Zealand, so i ribbonzied all of my documents because of employment, before my husband now filed the petitions for me & my son.

I am one fo those needed to have cenomar bcos my husband applied for k1/K2(for my son) petitions ... my cenomar support my status to proved im a single mother fulltime and i never been married or annuled before.

yes the embassy will accept the cenomar from nso without red ribbon from the authenticating office. but you can get it authenticated if you wish, it won't hurt. if it gives you peace of mind that you did everything you possibly could to be prepared for your interview then it's not a waste of time and money. and several people from the manila thread have been getting placed on AR lately after the interview for bc and cenomar checks. we don't know this for sure, bcz nobody has tried it yet, but it's just possible that the red ribbon and authenticating letter might be just the little extra "officialness" needed to get thru the interview without getting put on AR. good luck

I wasn't aware that Manila would accept any CENOMAR from individuals. I thought that if Manila had cause they would request the CENOMAR. Is this true or has Manila changed their policy?

Thanks

According to the K1 info-packet they mail to beneficiaries, the CENOMAR on NSO paper is one of the required docs they should bring along to the interview. But it appears that if there is any "red flags" (I speculate instances such as CENOMAR plus child) they may request their own copy. What the embassy hopes to gain in insite through their own copy of EXACTLY the same document I'm not sure. The source of never-ending frustration to many.

Thanks. I had seen posts in the past where people spend money on the CENOMAR and the embassy wouldn't accept it. I sure understand the frustration thingy!
