The 'system errors' at CSC are delaying som NOA2's

As previously reported, I called the CSC after several touches to see if my petition had been approved, on Monday I was told it had been approved and should be receiving my notice shortly. The same thing happened regarding my RFE. A week after returning it, I called because I had not gotten any confirmation and discovered it had been received, and then two days later finally got the email.

So, Wednesday, still no email on my NOA2 so I called again and just happened to get the same lady, she says 'hey, i remember you!' - let me check that for you again... I was put on hold and when she came back she said that the adjudicator had approved my case but that due to a 'system error' my NOA2 did not actually print out, and would have to be re-approved. She got it re-approved during the same call and said I should have my NOA2 within two weeks.

Today, Thursday, I wanted to be sure this 'system glitch' had been corrected do I called again, and got a new lady, and she told me my NOA2 had not been approved yet! I explained the context of my last 2 calls and was put on hold for about 10 minutes and when she finally came back she acknowledged that my case had in fact, been approved and re-approved, but that I was NOT supposed to actually be TOLD that until the NOA2 actually printed out and was mailed - (thats when the email's go out, from the section that actually prints and mails the NOA2's). She said that, (hopefully), it printed out this time and I should get my NOA2 soon, but not to call back for at least 2 weeks, and if I had not gotten it by then, they would do one 'manually' for me.

This may explain why someone else got 2 NOA2's - hehe! She said the possibility also exists that my NOA2 was mailed, but just not entered into the computer system for the email.

They don't ship your packet to the NVC until it shows on the computer system that your NOA2 has been mailed, this may also be the reason why some other people were approved but the NVC never got your file!

It makes me wonder to about those of you who got your NOA2's but never got any email confirming it! You cases could still be waiting in the mail room because they don't realize you have your NOA2!!

Oh no, this worries me because I was one of those that received NOA2 via snail mail, with no e-mails or updates online though.

don't worry so much ucla-cutie, TBill was only reporting what he heard from the USCIS CSRs--so we don't fault him for relaying their message--but we all know how full of BS their CSRs can be. Each one will give a different answer.

If you don't receive anything from NVC after waiting 30 days from receipt of your NOA2, then you can start to worry. For now, just be happy you got your NOA2. Things will move along.

I still remember when you were so frustrated and scared waiting for the NOA2 approval. That came, didn't it? You're fine.

I think your assessment of their procedures is incorrect. I received my NOA2 in the mail on October 17, 2005 as approved on October 12, 2005. By the time my attorney's office received my NOA2 the case was already out of the NVC and on it's way to Ukraine.

When the CSC finally got around to updating the information on my case they listed my date of approval as November 8, 2005. My fiancee had an interview already scheduled for November 11th and she arrived on November 17, 2005. I don't think their procedures have changed, it is just that not everyone that works there does the job we expect.

If you have an NOA2 in the mail then you can probably assume the case is at NVC. I don't know why the NVC is going so slow these days. Their overall workload hasn't changed much. Remember, the NVC approves all visa applications for forwarding to embassies all over the world.

What I failed to mention, and I should have been more clear about, is the fact that the lady I spoke to today, Thusday, initially told me my application was still pending and had not been approved yet. Then when I told her about the other lady who confirmed that my petition had been approved, she said well, that was no the 'Final Approval' and that some other supervisor still had to give the 'Final Approval'. I stood my ground and told her that was not what I had been told, that the delay in me getting my email notification was a system glitch and that I had been assured that my petition had gotten final approval - thats when I got put on hold for 10 minutes.

My point is, that there appear to be some serious 'system problems' and not just with notifications as I previously thought.

My second point is that it appears the people who answer the phone are told not to tell anyone about the system errors, rather, tell them thier applications have not been approved yet, tell them to wait...

I'm just curious, if you call them, if they tell you you are not approved yet - As I understand the misinformation I received ( ), they won't aknowledge you've been approved, or forward your package to NVC until the email goes out.

If I were you, I'd just call to see what status thier system is showing, and inform them, if necessary, that you have your NOA2. They should also be able to tell you if your file has been fowrarded to the NVC yet.

This is a fine suggestion. It couldn't hurt to call and see what they say. I suspect a live USCIS operator will say that the case was approved on such and such date and that the case has been forwarded over to NVC.

Let us know what USCIS says UCLA-Cutie.

Should I tell them that I have my NOA2 already? Or should I call and simply ask for the status of my petition and then if an approval doesn't show up, should I go ahead and tell them I did receive it. What's the number for the CSC, anyone have it? Or is it the number for the USCIS? I'm not sure since I've never had to call them up.

Don't tell them you have the NOA2 already. That would spoil the fun.

As I stated in another topic, I was approved Oct. 12, received my NOA2 on October 18, emailed NVC yesterday and received a reply today that my petition had already been received by NVC and mailed to the Bolivian US embassy. I never received any emails since my RFE receipt on October 4 from USCIS and on the case view system, still says they received my RFE and my petition is pending a decision. As usual, finding a trend is impossible.

I wonder if we should still worry about our case status not being updated in their system- at least the part that we get to see.

Will we have problems in the future because of this? I'd hate to be in the NVC, Consulate or even AOS phase and end up with another delay due to yet another CSC screw up!

I just checked CSC again and still the same post with the last touch being on 10/16. Anyway, I already got the NVC number, so hoping things will keep on moving more quickly. Glad I could make someone feel better. This whole experience has been very frustrating.
