Ha, see you post dates like my wife did, we do everything backwards here. We also filed at Nebraska, 3 months and 17 days between filing and interview date, you are 17 days less. Must be due to the increased in hiring, new guy in charge of the USCIS, and not nearly the work load as last year.

Is it because with the panic caused by the delay in the I-751 and that was just a couple of months ago, paid dearly to get my wife's and daughter's passport renewed for another five years and we finally got the ten year cards, so we could rest for awhile they decided to move real fast on the N-400?

Now I have to come up with a couple of more bucks for a US passport with more paper work as her foreign passport won't be any good anymore, well at least for coming back here. Then all that time and money spent getting those ten year green cards, we are sure not going to get our money's worth out of those, and they want them back? Well, if I understanding everything correctly, our daughter will get two more years of use out of her green card, the idiot turned 18 during that time, kids?

Applying for the N-400 really isn't based on how long you have been married, based on USCIS delay times, if it wasn't for these delay times, she would have been under 18 for the N-400, but apparently that doesn't hold true for the I-751, least she got her new green card. And they sure wanted to see that before they would let her enroll in our state college.

At least a green card is required to get into college, least in Wisconsin or a student visa, but those are not easy to get if you are living here. Ha, here we are dealing with a group of highly educated people, but try to explain to them an expired green card with a one year extension. But the army knows about all that stuff, just joint, we will take care of that.

We didn't call anybody, if with St. Paul or Chicago, make sure you sent in something that proves you were still married in 2008, guess a 2007 tax return that has to be filed in 2008 or 2007 property taxes paid in 2008 are not enough, then our personal check with both our names on made out to the USCIS that didn't bounce was not enough either. Nor was the fact that we were both there with a marriage certificate, lot's of personal photo ID, both wearing wedding bands, standing up when my wife was called in, and kissing her on the forehead telling my wife to relax in front of the officer, that wasn't enough either. It was just at the last second I tossed in an envelop containing all of our bank statements with a 2008 deposit slip that was fortunately enough. Wife's friend in the Chicago office was told to send in the last 12 months of a utility bill with both her husbands and her name on it, she is still waiting for final approval.

But she is unlucky, lives an hour from St. Louis but is assigned to Chicago, that also lost her proof for her I-751, send her a letter to take a train to Chicago where she has to pay those outrageous hotel fees without reason, only to tell her they lost her proof and to come back again with it where she has that high traveling expense again. I guess we are lucky and she is not.

Ha, glad I know different routes to St. Paul, with all the traffic delays and detours, still got there in time, is that luck? We did stop at a gas station, wife spent a buck on a power ball ticket, if we win tonight, that would really be luck, LOL.

Ya know Nick, I used to think my wife and I had the worst luck when dealing with USCIS. You have us beat by a mile.

That was my wife's friend that had really the bad luck, we have her beat by at least 2,400 miles in the extra trips she had to take.

Well we just moved to a smaller/cheaper apartment pending our escape from America. We called the USCIS and did an address change, and we mailed in the form as well.

We assumed the mail would forward along to the new place, but we assumed wrong. I have a bad feeling the interview letter has been sent, and we were informed that those letters have DO NOT FORWARD stamped on them. God, I can only imagine how badly the local office will screw this up.

We may have to take a trip there physically to get this issue settled. We did request that the post office start a "hold mail" for us but who knows what will happen.

Anyone had any issues from an address change? Feedback is always appreciated.
