Kezzie died today at 3:27am 05/02/2008, she went very peacefully, surrounded by her beloved husband Jon, and other family and friends.

I'm sure you'll all agree that Kezzie was a very special person and she will be missed a huge amount.

Rest in peace you beautiful lady. (F)

My Farewell Letter to all on Visa Journey who knew me and to those who did not...

If you ever get to read this then my end has come and I have passed away...... But I wanted to share a few things with my fellow VJer's... so here goes..

I came to VJ in Aug of 2005, I had filed for AOS from a VWP and was looking around to find out what info was available to people who had done AOS from a VWP... Other sites I had found all spoke of visa fraud and that I should not try to cheat the system and I should go home... so I moved on from those sights and ended up here at VJ...

Well I spent a few weeks reading lots of posts and found others who like me had had a spur of the moment wedding and they had completed the AOS process... there was at that time so much misinformation around about doing AOS from anything other than a K1 or K3.... I am so happy to say that has very much changed...

So who am I and what brought me to the USA?? Well ever since I was a baby we (my family and I) have spend a few weeks every year visiting a family here in Boston... My Mother and the Mother of the family had been penpals since they were both in high school... now the family we visited had 1 daughter and a son... the daughter was 5 years older than me but the son was 11 months younger than me... so we became friends... over the years we would spend our vacation time together and I looked on him as a cousin more than just a friend... well fast forward many years and we are both now in our 40's I had married and had 2 children and divorced and my kids were now grown-up and had lives of there own... Jon had never married and still lived with his parents... I had been ill for a while and had undergone major surgery in Dec 2004 My mother arranged a trip for me to visit our family friends in Boston where I could relax and enjoy some time in the US....

So on Feb 14th 2005 I arrived at Boston Logan airport, my Mothers friend had asked her son Jon to come and collect me... I was good to see him again as I had not been over for a visit for a few years... We chatted about all the summers we had spent together when we were young and how we both were getting older, I remember thinking he actually looked more hansom with his Salt & Pepper hair and rugged look.... Well we ended up spending just about every waking hour together and within a few weeks I was head over heals in love and so was he... He told me he had been heart broken when he found out I was getting married when I was just 17 years old and that was one of the reasons he had never married....

We told our parents and they all said "about time" they obviously knew before we did.... We were married on April 9th 2005...

In the fall of 2005 I started having headaches and when I was still having them in the Dec of 2005 I went to see my Doctor.... she checked me over and noticed that I had one eye that was protruding slightly so she recommended that I have a MRI done to rule out any issues... so in Jan 2006 I had the first of many MRI scans done.. I was told after the MRI was done that my Doctor needed to see me that day... Well I have a Tumor on my brain, I was referred to a specialist and the battery of testing followed quickly.... I had lost of treatments to try and shrink the tumor and had my first surgery in the May of 2006, they had removed as much of the tumor as they could for now can they were going to start radiation therapy as soon as I was strong enough to undergo it... In Sept 2006 we made our first and last trip to Scotland, we had a wonderful 2 weeks and I felt the best I had done in ages... well we hoped I was in remission and we started to relax a little, Christmas came and went and it was time for my review so in March 2007 we made our way to see the specialists and start the retesting that needed to be done to check all was still ok... then on April 12th 2007 I went to see the Doctors and it was then that we were given the heart breaking news that the tumor had spread to my brain stem and that nothing more could be done....

Well the last year has not been an easy one for any of us... My wonderful husband has been there for me every second that he can.. My parents and Children have been so strong and have given me the courage to face each day no matter how bleak it seems... We made an infopass appointment at our local office and took all my medical reports with us... the lady that we spoke with said she needed to talk to her senior and we were called in to a private room where we told the officer everything... they were wonderful, we gave them copies of the letter from my doctors and also a request for them to be able to talk to both my husband and my Mother about my immigration case so that when the time came they would not have issues about getting info or for me to have to make a trip to the office if I was very ill... They contacted the London Embassy on our behalf to request rapid processing of Visitor Visa's for both my Parents and my Children so that they can stay inside the USA for longer than the 90 days that the VWP allows, they approved the Visa's for each of them without them having to go to London for a interview all they had to do was send their passports it only took 4 weeks and they were each given a letter from the Boston office manager stating that if needed they can extend their 6 months stay if the end is very near and there I-94 is about to expire... for this I will always be grateful...

As for my own Visa Journey I have just got approval of my 10 year Greencard... It was my dearest wish to complete the AOS process before I become too ill... I would love to be able to file for Citizenship and I hope that Aug 2008 is not to far a goal for me to reach..

Visa Journey has been such a lifeline to me over the years and I have made many friends as well as a few enemies... I have watched many many couples start their journey and sail through the process and I have been able to share in their joy along the way... I have also shared in the sadness and heartache for those who things did not work out for, to them I say there is someone special out there for everyone you just have to meet them... I am would rather had had 3 years of happiness with my wonderful husband and best friend than had a life time with the wrong person... if your head is telling you that things are not right then ignoring it and following your heart will only lead to sadness...

I want to send special thanks to "The Captain" for without him VJ would not exist and so many people would be struggling to understand the very difficult process of bringing your loved ones to the US... To the Mods, you all do a wonderful job and I know how hard it can be when things are happening on the boards and you have to remain impartial and not take sides.... God I know there have been times when all I wanted to do was tell someone exactly where to get off.... I think VJ is a unique place where we get to see more of someone's personality than many others in real life do... this can be a good thing and a bad thing as I am sure most of you have found... Its hard to be tolerant of others when we are frustrated with the way things are going in our own life and it is sometimes too easy to take that frustration out on others that we are never likely to meet and never have to face...

I have gone back through many many of the threads and posts over the last few months because I wanted to print out some of the funny moments and the sad moments to add to my memory box... I started the Box after reading about another Mom who was dying and she wanted to leave something for her children to be able to look back on and see a small part of their mothers life that as children they knew nothing about... So I have done the same and as VJ has played such an big role in my life this last 3 years how could I have not included you all in my memory box... I hope people don't mind that I have taken their words and printed them so others in the future can share a small glimpse of the pleasure and sadness that VJ has given me... I now its against TOS but well I don't think most people will mind.... lol

I want to wish each and everyone of you the best that life can offer.... to those who I have known for many many months, I thank you for your friendship and support ( there are too many to mention each one personally but you will know who you are... plus I don't want anyone to feel I forgot anyone... I have enough trouble remembering what day it is...) to those who I maybe had cross words with or a difference of opinion, life can be hard and we all handle things in a different way, never intended to upset or annoy anyone but I stand guilty of doing both, I allowed things that were going on in my real life to shadow how I responded to other and for that I am sorry...

Well my world grows darker each day as my sight goes and my memory fails... my spelling gets worse and I forget what I was saying... so forgive me if there are lots of errors in this post but I wanted this to be written by me ....

I will bid you all farewell and thank you again from bottom of my heart for the good times that you have all given to me.... for me my life's journey is over but I wish yours to be a smooth and unhindered journey and may you have many many miles to travel....

Kez
