You will most likely need a co-sponser for 134 Affidavit of Support form. Thats what i will be doing to. Try to make it a family member if you can.

The US fiance is ALWAYS the primary sponsor, but may have a co-sponsor. If there is a co-sponsor, both the

US fiance and the co-sponsor will EACH have to fill out the affidavit I-134 or I-864 and EACH will have to provide

supporting documentation.

This is actually specific to each country. The embassy in Manila is known to be reluctant to accept a co-sponsor, but they are also known to give more consideration if the co-sponsor is a family member. Some consulates don't care if the co-sponsor is a family member, a distant relative, or a friend who lives thousands of miles away. Other consulates very rarely accept a co-sponsor, under any conditions. This is completely up to the discretion of the Consulate General in each country.

Farid, you should check out the Asia: South forum and see if you can get information about your consulate (I think Afghans interview in Islamabad, Pakistan), and how they handle co-sponsors. It will probably also help if you have tax returns to show that your previous income met the requirements, since it will indicate that your future income probably will also meet the requirements once you begin working again.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

thank you for the info. I hope that the consulate will accept an affidavit of support from non-family members because i don't have any other family member in the US. other than that, I will be working very hard to find another job in case i get laid off. normally i wouldn't be worried but unemployment is so high and too many people to compete with to get a job these days.
