DV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?

    Confused about steps after marriage
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!

AOS Fees and Package Assembly Question

I'm doing some research on AOS while waiting for my fiance's K-1 interview.

And with the new increased fees, I'm just a little confused:

    1. We will be filing I-485 and I-765 at the same time, I assume that I need to write two separate checks for these forms? Just to make it easier for USCIS?

    2. When looking at the USCIS FAQ about the new fees, I noticed that the biometrics fee didn't seem to make a difference anymore?

    image.png.45086c63406799aa4763120d5c7c48bc.png

The darker grey boxes are the new 2024 fees. And the first set of boxes are the previous fees. if you notice the line for "with biometric services" is the same as the line without biometrics for the 2024 fees. Does this mean the biometrics fee has just been rolled into the I-485 fee? when I inevitably need to write these checks, do I need to specify on the check that its for the I-485 and the biometrics? or will we have to pay for the biometrics at the time of the biometrics appointment instead of directly through USCIS?

    3. when I put together the packet (hole punched in a standard folder?) do I separate the checks and keep them with each form? or do I include them together at the very beginning before all of the forms? or even before the cover page?

    I've read the information here

but it seems to still be out of date, as it references that the I-765 fee is still included with the I-485 if filed jointly, which it obviously isn't now.

    4. for the cover page, is the applicants name the non-USCs name? or would it be the USC name? or is it both?

    5. in reference to question 3, if we fill out the G-1145 (e-notification form) do we put that in front of everything? including the checks?

we still have a few months to go before doing this, since his interview isn't until july, and if all goes well, he will likely be here by september, but I like to be over prepared and understand exactly what it is I am doing.

Thank you for any insight or help!

    Hi all,

I received a letter from the Embassy saying I can now register/schedule for an interview date. However I have already booked a cruise trip from Miami and wanted to do the interview after I come back from the cruise, 13th of July. If I pay the fee now, can I Schedule my interview date for after the 13th of July? or will they pick the date for me?

Will I have any problems entering Miami since I have already submitted my DS-160?

    thanks in advance!

    Jon

Hoping someone can provide some guidance here please!

When applying for US Citizenship when married to a US Citizen when can you submit your application-

    A) 90 Days prior to 3 year wedding anniversary

    B) 90 Days prior to 3 year green card approval date (received after successful adjustment of status due to marriage)

    C) 90 Days prior to 3 year anniversary of NOA for I-485 application

    D) Some other Time?

I am having trouble getting a clear answer, and would really appreciate it!

I-130 case with new status and case number

    Hi everyone,

I filed form I-130 for my brother in June of 2012 and this week, I received an email from USCIS with a new case number starting with "IOE" and the case status as "Acceptance". Does anyone reading this know what this means? I called USCIS and spoke to the agent and he was unable to provide me details of this change. The one thing I was told, that this case has been transferred to Potomac service center for processing.

My brother has since moved to a different country, and I wanted to update his current address. I was told to write a letter to Potomac service center with the new address with some details - and this is currently the only way to get the address updated of the beneficiary.

Has anyone experienced any of the above issues?

I would appreciate a response, and thank you for reading my post.

Thank you and stay safe everyone!

    Help with i134 - Beneficiary's financial info

    Hi everyone,

Me and my American fiancee are currently in the process of finishing up my i134. We are both in our early 20s, and as such we don't make enough money for her to sponsor me by herself, or for me to move to America entirely on my funds.

Under part 3, we've indicated her father as the individual agreeing to support the beneficiary (after getting his approval of course ahah). Now, her dad makes good money, but my parents do too, and they were planning to pay most of our bills until we both work full time and can stay afloat by ourselves. So:

    1) Is there any way to include my parents' finances in the i134? They suggested that we should add their stocks portfolio under part 2 section 16, since the menu there allows to indicate the full name of the asset's holder. They think this means I don't have to be the asset holder necessarily, which seems right to me, but I wanted to ask if someone else here has done something similar before.

    2) They also want us to add their income under part 2 section 13, which as I understand it is only for the income I'll be earning while in the United States before I get a green card or work permit (so, $0), and also for any dependents that I as the beneficiary would be financially supporting, like children and similar (which we don't have). Am I right in thinking there's no way to add their income information to the form?

2 years late to file I-751
I am two years late in filing my I-751 form. Here’s the situation:
      - We completely overlooked this particular form.
      - After my initial green card expired, we applied for the I-90, which has been in process for two years.
      - With the extension they provided, I was able to travel and receive my driver's license.
      - In April this year, I filed for the N-400.
      - During this entire time, I received no communication from USCIS regarding missing documentation.
      - Today, at my naturalization interview, I learned I was supposed to file the I-751.
      - After some back and forth with the officer, he still conducted my interview. He mentioned that since I am married and have children, I should not have a problem, and he asked me to submit an affidavit of explanation plus supporting documents.
      - Later today, I received a letter in my portal asking for "missing documents," specifically the I-751. They gave me four days to provide evidence of the I-751 acceptance or processing status.
I am unsure of what to do. Please help and advise.
