Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

2 RepliesHi all,
My wife will be in Manila, Philippines for her IR-1 interview starting Jan 29 and I'm wondering if I can just mail her my documents while she is there in Manila? She will be in an airbnb, but is it possible to have the docs picked up at an official location of sorts? Thank you!

4 RepliesI got married in the Philippines about 11 years ago, brought my wife to Hawaii and We got divorced 2 years ago (2022) because she cheated on me. I am now talking to another girl from the Philippines and planning to see her this April 2024. If all goes well, how do I go about doing a 'Fianc Visa'? Do I need an 'Annulment' from the Philippines for my Ex-wife?
Also If anyone knows the answer to this question:
My ex and I have two boys together ages 4 & 10, I have full custody of them (physical and legal) and I am planning to bring my boys with me to the Philippines. My question is Do I need to have my Ex-wife make a consent letter to have the boys travel with me?
I'm thinking I don't need a consent letter from her because I have full custody but I want other peoples opinions if any of you had experienced it. I will bring my 'divorce decree' showing I have full custody just in case the airport ask for it.
thank you in advance

11 RepliesI am an American citizen and will be getting married to an Ecuadorean citizen on January 31st. I plan to file for her and her two children (17 and 15 years old). I am wondering first if it is feasible to file without using an immigration lawyer and second if I file the I-130s together, I am wondering if the children would necessarily have to travel to the US with their mother or if they can follow her shortly after she comes as we would like to get a bit settled before bringing them over and would like for the younger one to graduate from high school before coming to live here. I appreciate any advice on how to go about the process. Thank you.

I'm a US Citizen, I petitioned for the i-130 for my son and husband.
My son: Sept 2023
My husband: Oct 2023
I just received approval for my son's petition, awaiting NVC notice
I haven't gotten anything for my husband. Is there a way to speed his petition up? Or will I have to just wait?My second situation is, I am a dual citizen of the US and Canada, currently living in Canada. We plan to move to the US all together once they get fully approved.
Do I need to be living in the US first, before they come?I petitioned for my son and husband in 2023, and I am now pregnant --due February 2025.
My son's case was approved today and we are waiting for the NVC. I assume my husband's case will be approved soon.
If baby is born before we all move to the US, what do I need to do for her? do I still do the CRBA? or I file another i-130 for her?

5 RepliesHello - I know it might be something I should just call USCIS about, but I thought I'd try here first.
In July 2020 I sent in an I-129F for my now ex-husband and it was approved in February 2021. He was Russian and there were issues with cases even getting sent to any embassies at that time, so we decided to just get married in Russia and I moved there. I never sent anything to USCIS, NVC or the consulate/embassy withdrawing my approved petition. Well...now four years later I find myself in another relationship with a man from Norway and we were thinking about trying the K1. I saw on the application that you have to put your old case number and when you filed, and I did find this online through my old USCIS account, but the status still says approved. Do I still need to contact USCIS to withdraw the petition? I figured after four years it would have just expired and been removed from the system.
Thanks!
