Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

1 RepliesHello,
I was refused my visa at interview in London I m a UK citizen, got a waiver of ineligibility ( same as in 2017, I have a conviction got visa and went to USA few times ) If they request my passport for visa issuance how long do I have to send it back, I go to Greece soon and don t want to lose
my holiday or my visa chance.
eg. If they say I only have two weeks to send it back while I m in Greece I may lose my chance after a six month wait.
Certifying a Buku Nikah (Muslim Marriage Certificate) in Indonesia (for I-130) 1:11 am today

1 RepliesHello all! I'm trying to find information on how to authenticate a Buku Nikah (Muslim Marriage certificate) so that it's legal in the US and will be accepted for the CR1/IR1 process. I've read and heard many places that while other certificates are valid, a Muslim marriage book isn't officially recognized by the US. However, I've gotten multiple conflicting reports about how to do this:1.) The Surabaya consulate told me I have to bring it to the Civil Registry in Surabaya, then to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta to get a seal, then to the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta to authenticate.2.) When I called the U.S Embassy in Jakarta, a woman told me that I only needed to get an apostille at the Office of Law and Human Rights (AHU Building) in Jakarta. She then connected me to another woman who told me:3.) I don't need to do anything, and the Buku Nikah would already be valid, despite all other information I'd received so far contradicting that.Has anyone else gone through this process? What's the correct way to validate a Muslim Marriage book in Indonesia for validity in the US?Thanks!!

2 RepliesMy brother's F1 visa is set to expire in June. He misses his family and want to visit Lagos, and return in May (1 month before visa expiry). He has a valid I20, but we are worried his Visa might not be renewed because he switched his Course of Study from Masters(Law) to BSc (Nursing). He just wants a 3weeks visit to see his family whom he misses so much. The school says it is Ok for him to travel and return provided the visa is still valid. Pls can you advise if there is any risk he might be denied re-entry to the US.
Thank you!

3 RepliesMy wife has an interview for the K1 visa, but I can't access my irs transcript for 2023 and I can't use the past 3 years because I didn't make enough. Could I possibly just use my 1099 tax return sheet as proof of income. The IRS is taking a while to process my taxes for this year and have already filed since February.
I-751 evidence - detailed mobile bill needed? 9:23 pm yesterday

3 RepliesAs per my post history, we are preparing our I-751 evidence.
We have a lot of solid evidence - basically everything except for kids (got non) and shared assets (no house of our own).
We printed out our mobile bills as one of the utilities which prove the address AND shows mine and spouse's mobile number under the same account.
The idea was also to show we called each other.
Now, it seems like it's kind of an overkill, we have around 150 pages of just the mobile bills.
Even our bank / credit card statements aren't that big.
Do we actually need to send all of that?
